FAQs

A virtual career fair is an online event that takes place on a specific day and time to allow employers and job seekers to interact in a virtual environment, using chat rooms and other web-based tools to converse and exchange information. Each company has its own booth and you can visit each booth during the event to engage in a group chat. Employers can also schedule live webinars during the event.
This event is exclusively for current students and alumni of the Technology Management MBA, Hybrid MBA, Executive MBA, Full-Time MBA, Evening MBA, MS in Business Analytics, MS in Information Systems and Master of Supply Chain Management programs. Whether you are actively job seeking or exploring a career transition, our Virtual Career Fair will give you a unique opportunity to meet with employers who are interested in experienced MBAs in a variety of industries, roles, and functions.
This event will be held online ("live") on Thursday, October 28, 2021, 12pm-5:30pm PT / 3pm-8:30m ET. From 12pm-2pm PT there will be live webinar presentations by top-tier companies. From 2pm-5:30pm companies will have booths in which you can engage in 1:1 text or video chats.
From 2pm-5:30pm PT you'll be able to visit a company's virtual booth and have a text or video chat. However, we encourage you to reserve a 1:1 slot with the employers in advance of the event to ensure an opportunity to speak with them.
Yes, registration is required. Simply follow the link at the top of the page and submit the short registration form. You’ll then receive an email confirming your registration for the event.
While we tried to schedule this event for an optimal day and timeframe, we understand your schedule may not allow you to attend even a portion of the live event. Real-time interactions with company representatives are only available from 12pm-5:30pm PT / 3pm-8:30m ET. After the event ends at 5:30pm PT / 8:30m ET, the Virtual Career Fair website will remain open for 30 days, which will allow you to view company information and leave off-line messages for company contacts.
Yes! We have encouraged companies to be online as much of the 5.5 hour event as possible, but times may vary based on representatives’ availability. A schedule of company chat availability and webinars will be available prior to the event and also on the Virtual Career Fair platform.
No, you do not need to download or install any software to participate. You only need to have access to the internet.
Yes, while the Virtual Career Fair “doors” will open at 12pm on October 28, you can log in earlier to reserve 1:1 slots with employers before the event.
While it’s certainly an opportunity to connect with people at companies to pursue open positions that interest you — and you can apply directly to openings through the VFairs event platform — we also are encouraging employers and participants to make the most of the event for networking and awareness-building. This event is for job-seekers and knowledge-seekers alike.
Yes! It’s a terrific opportunity to learn about the participating organizations and expand your network of high-quality contacts, which are valuable for a future career move and/or to stay current and connected in your current (or a new) industry.
A few things to note:
First, if you upload your resume when you register for the Virtual Career Fair, it is possible that a colleague or HR representative will see your resume. We are promoting the value of networking during this event — in addition to recruitment — but if you have privacy concerns, we suggest not uploading your resume into the Virtual Career Fair system.

However, you still have the opportunity to share your resume specifically with company contacts, if requested after engaging in group chat room, 1:1 text or video conversations.

Second, you can interact with other companies in their booths, which will not be visible to your participating employer.

Yes, information you share during registration is accessible online by these companies for 30 days following the event and via an Excel file beyond 30 days, including the option to export or view electronic resumes (if you choose to upload yours).
